Child Development
Our classes have been designed to encourage the children to understand co-ordination, balance and agility. It is also important that the children understand the habit of regular exercise. We encourage our children to share, take turns and work together to complete activities, this enables them to build friendships and become part of a team.
We use mini sized soft rugby balls for the younger children to ensure safety at all times. The smaller children's session lasts approx 30 minutes and we encourage parent participation. Each session includes passing, catching, try scoring, and cone kicking and sometimes more importantly fun with the parachute. Please remember though the whole idea is for the children and parents to have fun.
The older childrens class concentrates more on basic motor skills and to start looking at the more specific skills used in Rugby, although the parachute is also used as a fun element. The soft rugby balls are also used, but we gradually introduce the size 3 rugby balls as the children grow in confidence. The class tends to last about 45 minutes.
